A Note from Our Founder
Prepmedians was founded upon one key principle: “All students deserve to laugh and learn.”
I realized the deep need for Prepmedians when I was in New York City working as a professional actor and tutoring the SAT/ACT for 5000+ hours, charging up to $400/hour as the #1 tutor in a company of more than 250 tutors. I had just graduated magna cum laude from Yale University, where I studied Theater and Psychology, and I found that by bringing my background as an actor to engage students in the classroom, I was able to get teens to realize that they were more capable than they ever knew they were before. You see, I had all these students who couldn’t memorize the quadratic formula, but who had no problem memorizing Drake raps.
So I thought, “Why not fuse together education and entertainment?”
I taught the quadratic formula to the tune of Drake’s Hotline Bling (watch the rap in the video above)! Lo and behold, my students started mastering the material. They experienced life-changing SAT/ACT score increases in their SAT/ACT scores. Importantly, they fell in love with learning. I knew I had to build a platform to help all students CRUSH their tests (especially because most families can’t afford to pay $10K for me to tutor their kids)!
Thus, Prepmedians was born.
Now, Prepmedians has helped students around the world achieve their dream scores. We have built an incredible community of hundreds of thousands of Prepsters on social media, particularly on TikTok and Instagram. Without a doubt, though, the biggest impacts have been with the tens of thousands of Prepsters who’ve used this very website to catapult their SAT/ACT scores. Many have increased from average to 99th-percentile scores, earning huge scholarships and admissions to their top schools.

Kalyan is a perfect-scoring tutor who earned his BA magna cum laude from Yale University and earned his MBA with high honors, graduating as a Wallman Scholar, from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Outside of tutoring, he has worked as a professional Off-Broadway/film actor. I just got my most recent SAT back. I raised my score from a 1340 to a 1510 (170 point increase) with only a month on Prepmedians.com. I’m so grateful! If you are looking for a tutor, use Prepmedians instead! The website makes the SAT so simple! I have used tutors in the past who cost way more than Prepmedians but who didn’t help me nearly as much as Prepmedians did. The hands-on tutoring experience was nice but most tutors don’t explain the more specific rules and strategies in math and grammar as well as Prepmedians does!

It sounds weird to say, but I just had a really good time studying for the SAT. I found myself laughing a lot! The videos were definitely catered to my age. Prepmedians incorporated a lot of pop culture that made it really memorable. It really goes over everything you need to know and why things happen. The content is all very clear and concise. Although I didn’t have much time to study for the ACT, Prepmedians made good use of the time I did put in. Their content was so entertaining and easily consumable that it didn’t even feel like studying. When I started studying for the English section of the ACT, my score was staying stuck at a 29. I tried book after book, and nothing was helping to improve my score.
